Bring some cheer to children in hospital
The Smile Foundation
Join us for a visit to Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital where we will be visiting the pediatric plastic surgery and orthopedic ward. This is where a number of children have life changing surgery with the help of The Smile Foundation. Our volunteers will have the opportunity to read to the children, play games and help brighten their day. with it being the end of the year this visit will be the set up for the Christmas party in the ward.

Grace Help Centre
Grace Help Centre has been working in the Mooinooi a mining small town with with vast poverty as a result of the collapse of the mines causing a rise in crime and violence. The organisation has been offering vital services for more than 20 years and with time the beds and bedding have worn out and are in great need of replacement. The shelter has a capacity to host 25 women and their children at any given time. Toiletries and care packs are always needed not only for the women in shelter but for the outreach program in police stations run by the same organisation. Marang House supports children from 4 years old to 14 years old providing them with a home environment where they can learn to manage and live with their illnesses. These children suffer from serious illnesses that require constant monitoring and regular treatment at a tertiary hospital. Volunteers will spend the morning assisting the children with basic academic activities or doing arts and crafts.
